Product Builder

Build your brand by creating a custom version of NovaBACKUP that you can distribute to your customers.

NovaBACKUP xSP Product Builder is the module used to build customized client-interface. This module allows you to pre-configure the application for your clients. You can define your own logos, create links to your NovaBACKUP xSP servers, and do many more things to create a backup and restore application for your users. With NovaBACKUP xSP Product Builder, you can also create custom help screens, menus, and enable a client application that can have as much – or as little – evidence of being a NovaStor product as you wish.

Central Management Console

The Central Management Console (CMC) allows you to manage local and off-site backup and restore processes of all connected NovaBACKUP xSP 12.0 clients and other NovaBACKUP 12.0 products, down to file level, from a central web interface. For a truly managed backup service!

The CMC is a stand-alone, remote management application that enables resellers, system integrators, and other IT service providers to manage a professional backup service from a single, web based interface.  End users have the option to schedule their own local and off-site backup jobs or rely on a service provider to fully manage all data protection processes.

The CMC is an optional component for any NovaBACKUP xSP 12.0 installation and is also compatible with version 12.0 of NovaBACKUP Remote Workforce, NovaBACKUP Professional, NovaBACKUP Server, NovaBACKUP Business Essentials and NovaBACKUP BE Virtual.

Requirements

The CMC can be installed on any computer with a Windows operating system as a web server (IIS or built in web server).

The NovaBACKUP Central Management Console requires .NET 3.5 SP1 and .NET 4.0 to be installed.  Being a web based program, it does require a web server but one is bundled with the installer if IIS is not installed.  The backend of the program is also SQL based, but SQLite which requires no installation is bundled with it if you do not want to use Microsoft SQL.

It is recommended that you have either a static IP-address or a DNS name associated with the computer that will be hosting the CMC as the NovaBACKUP agent installations will need to communicate with the management server.

Storage Server

NovaBACKUP xSP Storage Server is the core of your professional managed backup service.

Make a Difference

The Storage Server (also sometimes referred to as Backup Server) is the module that manages the whole subscriber data storage and thus enables professional Cloud Back and Managed Backup Services. During a regular backup task the client software sends all user data to the Storage Server, from which the files also can be restored. The entirely storage manipulation, such as the retention period of the data for a user, is done thru the Storage Server.

Let your customers choose what security means

Above all, customers can freely choose whether to manage the application themselves or whether to book a fully managed backup service. At the same time your customers may choose to keep their data stored locally or whether to backup to any off-site data center or to combine both.

What You Need

The operation of a backup service with NovaBACKUP xSP requires the installation of the NovaBACKUP xSP client software at each customer site and of NovaBACKUP xSP Storage Server at the service provider's site. The central component of the Storage Server itself is the SQL database. A properly working SQL database server is therefore required to install and operate NovaBACKUP xSP. It is essential that the NovaBACKUP xSP SQL databases are regularly backed up in order to ensure rapid recovery in the event of a system or data failure. The database server is the most significant part of scaling a NovaBACKUP xSP Storage Server installation.

The NovaBACKUP xSP Client bundles the functions for local and offsite data protection in a single award winning and easy to use interface.

The Client module of NovaBACKUP xSP is the customer-facing interface. It's simple, intuitive and your customers don't need IT experience to use it. Depending on your NovaBACKUP xSP subscription, you may be able to design and distribute multiple different versions of the Client application, which are targeted to specific groups of users.

The NovaBACKUP xSP Remote Manager is a web-based utility allows you to perform remote management of many of the tasks that are done locally within the Storage Server Configuration Manager. The Remote Manager is very rich in features, and enables you to manage multiple Storage Servers from one central location.

Central Management of any Number of Storage Servers

The NovaBACKUP xSP Remote Manager can potentially be one of the most important elements in NovaBACKUP xSP. It is through the Remote Manager that an administrator, or other person authorized to access the Remote Manager, can make the critical changes to the entire NovaBACKUP xSP system. The Remote Manager can be used as a web based administration tool for one or many Storage Servers.

The Remote Manager also allows you to manage your Storage Server(s) through programs that you write or modify to instruct the Storage Server(s) to perform certain functions in ways that you program.

Integration into Existing Infrasturture

The Remote Manager also provides a SOAP interface which enables the integration of the NovaBACKUP xSP Storage Server with third-party-systems such as Customer Relationship Management (CRM), Accounting, Monitoring or Reporting applications.

The NovaBACKUP xSP Commerce Server is designed to allow you to deliver backup services, marketing materials, newsletters and additional benefits to your customers. It also provides a convenient way to manage customer accounts.

What You Need

To make your online storage available directly in the NovaBACKUP User Interface for your online backup customers, service providers need to install the Commerce Server in addition to the NovaBACKUP xSP Storage Server and the Remote Manager. The Commerce Server is a free add-on for NovaBACKUP xSP..
