Scheduled Backups Stopped Running

As of Tuesday, April 12, all of my scheduled backups stopped running at their scheduled start date & time. And, when I log in, the missed job starts whether I answer the Missed Backup prompt as "No" or not. I am running Windows Server 2008 R2, NovaStor Backup Server 11.1.14.
There are seemingly no clues in the log files as to why jobs don't start automatically. No passwords were changed, all login accounts are unchanged. I'm about to reinstall the application, but would rather fix than reinstall.

Re: Scheduled Backups Stopped Running

You need to run backup and scheduler as a specific windows user (not as a logged in user) that has full admin rights to a local

If That Does Not Help, Delete Scheduled Job and Re Schedule

Re: Scheduled Backups Stopped Running

Update: NovaBACKUP Server 11.1 Build 14 was reinstalled, jobs erased and recreated. Jobs fail to initiate at their scheduled start time. But, every time I login past the time of start, the job starts despite saying "NO" to running job now. There is no Log entry for the never-run job in NovaBACKUP, and Windows Event Logs do not indicate any reason why jobs won't launch. Each job is configured as Admin-level access (confirmed at job creation). Still at a loss for why this all started happening on Tuesday April 12 (Patch Tuesday?). REMEMBER: all was working fine for nearly a year until 4/12/2011!!!

Re: Scheduled Backups Stopped Running

For all that are/were following this post, I've discovered and solved the problem. Seems that permissions became corrupted in two data folders for the same user, preventing administrator access to the contents of those folders. Resetting the permissions to their original settings on all contents of those folders fixed the problem. Watching the backup job progress run constantly to the point of failure helped to get to the core issue. Logs, both NovaBACKUP and Windows Event Logs, were useless to solve this.

Which folders? Also curious how you figured out which folders had the bad permissions.

Glad to hear it had a happy ending!
