Unlimited scalability
NovaBACKUP DataCenter’s architecture supports easily the central management of heterogeneous IT-environments with several thousands of servers and many Petabytes of information.The speed of the backup and especially of the restore process is neither influenced by the number of administered systems, the number of executed/accomplished backups nor by ongoing backups and restores. The speed only depends on the performance of the clients, on the connection and on the backup device. Thus, continuous and predictable backup and restore periods are guaranteed even when your IT environment is expanding.
Fault tolerant backup solution
This architecture based on active clients and passive backup servers enables the easy setup of fault tolerant backup environments at a competitive price. In case of malfunction/failure a client can automatically at any time access another backup server. As meta data is kept separately the restore ability of the backup is always guaranteed.
Highest restore ability "any time any place" restore
Due to the fact that meta data is kept separately and the specific backup format, a restore of data is possible any time any place even without central management or the backup server which performed the backup. The medium itself (tape, disc) is sufficient. Even in case of failure of components (central management database, backup clients, backup server) the redundancy of meta data ensures a restore and localization of the backup.
